Kensington Park, Orewa

A masterplanned residential neighbourhood with an integrated retirement village over 15 hectares in Orewa. The development of Kensington Park was enabled by a Private Plan Change approved in 2012 which established an efficient planning framework to enable comprehensive development of buildings up to 5 storeys in scale in a variety of typologies.

Bentley & Co are the Project Planners and were responsible for achieving the Private Plan Change and the subsequent appeal to the Environment Court, and iterative resource consents for subsequent stages of development.

Mahitahi

A social housing project in Otara, Tāmaki Makaurau to establish an integrated residential (papakāinga) development purposefully arranged for communal living.  Integral to the development and communal living arrangement a wharenui was provided for the residents for communal dining and recreation. This building also serves to provide facilities for the Mahitahi Trust to provide social and health support services to residents.  

This project was approved on a non-notified basis (2017), and successfully defended on appeal (2020) in the High Court.

McConnell Developments Limited (Teal Apartments Takapuna)

A new mixed use development of the ‘Gasometer’ site in the Takapuna Metropolitan Centre, involving retail, food and beverage and amenities within a 6 level podium, and 358 ‘build to rent’ apartments within a 39 storey tower. 

Bentley & Co. were the project planners and were responsible for the consenting of the proposal on a non-notified basis.

Sarsfield Street, Herne Bay

Luxury apartments in Herne Bay. A complex application involving negotiations with Council regarding notification. Ultimately approved on a non-notified basis for matters including height, height to boundary, coverage and flooding.

Whenua Whanake Limited Partnership (Wirihana)

The Wirihana development is a joint venture between Te Akitai Waiohua and Avant Group to subdivide the subject site of 11.32ha into a total of fifteen superlots, two wetlands and seven roads, with a total development yield of approximately 519 residential units, together with associated infrastructure and ancillary commercial activities.

Bentley & Co. were the Project Planner and were responsible for the consenting of the combined subdivision and landuse consent, collating input from four individual architects, landscape consultants, ecology and civils.
